UP-CYCLED HAIR ACCESSORIES
FOR A GREATER GOOD

From Scraps To Srunchies

Lunastella was born from a desire to “rescue” discarded fabrics and turn them into beautiful hair products. Up-cycling is at the heart of our why. Instead of fabrics ending up in landfills, they are turned into fashionable hair accessories and all net profits are donated to charity.

BECOME A PART OF OUR MISSION

After I visited Misioneros del Camino Orphanage in 2019, I decided that I had to help the children. I saw an opportunity and decided to take action. I would love to hear what you would do to help a community in need which you care about.

ABOUT LUNA AND HER VISION

It all started in 2019 as an eighth grade community service school project. My idea was to take fabrics that didn’t get used up in the production process and up-cycle them into fashionable products and then donate all the profits to a local charity.

With three friends, we turned discarded fabrics into trendy hair scrunchies, sold them and raised $3000 for the Make a Wish Foundation.

That summer, as part of a youth mission, I visited Misioneros del Camino orphanage in Guatemala. My experience at the home was so transformational that I decided I had to do more to help the children.

I turned my school project into a socially responsible business, rebranded to Lunastella and changed my give back charity to Misioneros del Camino. To date, I have raised more than $10,000 for the orphange.

I could see a bigger vision unfolding- an opportunity to experience how to turn something discarded into something beautiful and use it to make a positive impact in the world.

Xoxo,

DONATE & HELP CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION

The children of Misioneros don’t have the means to receive an education when they leave the orphanage. And almost all the children will live out their childhoods in the home. With this in mind, we have created a special fund to help with the children’s educations and empower them to then enter the workforce.
